BIOGRAPHY

Maurizio Savini was born in Rome, where he studied history of art at the university of Rome “La Sapienza”. His first exhibition takes place in Dusseldorf. The same year he is responsible for the stage setting for the lyric opera ”Parsifal” by R.Wagner, directed by Peter Stein, music direction by Claudio Abbado with the “Berliner Philarmoniker”, in Salzburg and at the International Festival of Edinburg. In 2002 he works on the setting for the ballet “la fin du jour” on show at the theatres of Bologna and Florence. Has many solo exhibitions all around the world, in Paris, Lyon, London, Amsterdam, Berlin and New York. Being active since 1990 Maurizio Savini in 2008 presents an exhibition with an installation for the museum of Saint Etienne and the museum of contemporary art in Lyon. Participates to the Quadriennale D’Arte di Roma the same year with a new cycle of sculptures. Takes actively part to cultural projects like realization of pediatric hospitals in Paris and Vladikavkaz.

In 2009 realize permanent sculptures for the M.A.C.R.O and the Luiss University in Rome. In 2011 he is invited to participate to the Biennale di Venezia Padiglione Italia, in the special department patrocinated by the Fondazione Roma. Contemporary has also solo exhibition at the Ermanno Tedeschi Gallery of Torino. In 2012 carries out the performance “Domestic Forest” in Castello di Rivara. In 2016 has an personal exhibition with a title “Forbidden world” for the Mucciaccia and Patners in Singapore.
